Shagbags is an original collection of handbags by International award winning designer, Jodi Jaffe. Each bag is a true “one of a kind”. They are original and unique vintage bags dating from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. Each design is personally hand-embellished with antique brooches, mink, feathers, beads and trims. Swarovski crystals and beads are often added to create fun and colorful handles.

While attending a black tie event, I needed a little pizzazz to my little black dress. I had a beautiful silk antique clutch from France and had an idea! Admiring true vintage collectibles and being cursed with the ever-spinning mind of an artist, I simply added some mink from my grandmothers stole, attached a bit of sparkle from an antique brooch and headed out the door. I received compliments all evening long. My first shagbag in the making! Finding unique bags in good condition is definitely a challenge but great fun. I have bags from all over the world; New York, Paris, Milan, Hong Kong and many other exotic places. Since each bag is a true vintage handbag, some Shagbags may have minute “character” flaws due to the age of many of the bags. I am extremely critical in my inspection but sometimes can’t resist a fabulous find even if there is a slight imperfection. Since every Shagbag is a “one of a kind” creation, they make wonderful collectibles.
